Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026
At its fourth Asian Games, Mongolia’s national team competed in foil, épée and sabre for the first time.
Fencing is contested with three weapons: foil, épée and sabre. Each has its own target area and rules.
Only the torso is target. Right of way goes to the fencer who attacks first. Most children start with foil.
The whole body is target, head to toe, and there is no right of way. The most popular weapon in Mongolia.
Target is everything above the waist. Fencers cut with the edge and thrust with the point. The fastest weapon.
Clubs in Ulaanbaatar and Erdenet take children from age 6. Pick a club and get in touch.
